Della Y. O'Dell of 15 Connelly Blvd. Sharon, PA, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 12:40 a.m. at UPMC Greenville Hospital. She was 72.

Mrs. O'Dell was born in Brownsville, PA on September 28, 1938, a daughter of Dearth and Hazel Hoar Swoger.

She attended school in Ripley, New York and following school was a homemaker. Della was a member of Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington Campus. She was involved with the Mental Health Association in Sharon and was awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award for her work with the association. Della loved word search puzzles, bingo, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. The most important people in her life where her grandchildren and family.

Her husband, Andrew Peter Benton O'Dell, whom she married June 29, 1968, passed away on July 17, 1988.

She is survived by: 2 daughters, Gail and her husband Robert Saxion of West Middlesex, PA and Lynn and her husband Arthur Callahan of Harrisville, PA; 3 sisters, Sandy, Jane and Margie; 2 brothers, Bob and Richard; 7 grandchildren, Leslie, Stephanie, and Nancy Saxion, Dakota Gromley, Richard O'Dell Jr., Destiny O'Dell, and Stephen Callahan. Della is also survived by a daughter in law, Nicole O'Dell of W. Middlesex, PA.

Besides her parents and husband, Della was preceded in death by a son, Richard O'Dell; 3 sisters, Mary, Hazel, and Agnes; a brother, Leonard.

Calling Hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011 in the funeral home with Rev. Rob Cypher, pastor of Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington Campus.
