Delbert E.Williams Jr. of 457 Buhl Blvd, Sharon passed away at 7:43 a.m. Sunday (9-5-10) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System surrounded by his family as their love comforted him to the very. He was 69.
Delbert was born June 1, 1941 to Delbert E. and Elizabeth 'Betty' Williams.
He graduated from Sharon High School in 1959 and entered the United States Army serving in the 570th Transportation Company in Rochefort, France where he achieved the rank of Sergeant during the Berlin and Algerian crises. Following an honorable discharge, Delbert went to work for Deluxe Check Printers at the Cleveland, Ohio branch. He was later promoted to Department Manager, relocating to Louisiana to assist with set up of their New Orleans branch. In 1976 Delbert was appointed Production Manager of the Cincinnati, OH branch and held that position until he retired after thirty four years of dedicated service. Delbert traveled extensively, enjoying golf and fishing, gardening and any activity which involved the outdoors. Delbert is a past member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks where he served as chaplain. Delbert married Rita Dempsey, the love of his life for over 50 years on 3/5/1960.
He is survived by his wife Rita, daughter Therese Stidd and her spouse James Bramlage of Fayetteville, OH, daughter Colleen and her husband Timothy Rohrbacher of Goochland, VA, and a son Mark Edward and his wife, Maricarmen and their sons Ayden Matthew and Carson Marcos of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth 'Betty' Williams, sister Faye Sabella and her husband, John, of California City, CA, brother, Edward Williams of Palm Desert, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by all.
