Obituary
Debra A. Hamilla McClimans of Franklin, formerly of West Middlesex, passed away at 6:12 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, in Transitions Health Care Autumn Grove, Harrisville. She was 62.
Debra was born July 12, 1954, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Peter and Elinor Drowne Yelovach.
She was a 1972 graduate of West Middlesex High School.
Debra was the office supervisor for Telereach Inc., Oil City, until her retirement in 2011. Previously she was employed by Dairy Mart as a district manager.
She was very patriotic and proud to serve her country in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1974.
Debra was a former member of Franklin VFW Post 1835; and the American Carpo-Russ Club, Sharon; and a volunteer at the Humane Society of Mercer County.
She enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, nature, playing cards, her four cats and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Debra was also a gourmet cook and a movie buff.
She is survived by her best friend of 18 years and husband, Gary McClimans, whom she married on Dec. 30, 2015. Debra is also survived by two daughters, Victoria Baez Whelan and her husband John, Hermitage; and Jessica Hamilla Selders, Sharpsville; a stepson, Rob McClimans, New York City; a sister, Dorene Patton and her husband Fred, Defiance, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chase and Taylor Whelan; and McCorde Selders; her father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Joan McClimans, Franklin; a sister-in-law, Robin Roup and her husband Mike, Franklin; and two nieces, Emillee Girty, Pittsburgh; and Aimee Girty, Tuscan, Ariz.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alexis Hamilla; and her former husband, Albert Hamilla.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Mercer County, 3005 E. State St., Hermitage, PA 16148; or Venango County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301.
