Deborah L. (Caracci) Bashor, 52 S. Mercer Ave., Sharpsville, PA passed away unexpectedly Sunday (1-03-10) evening at her home. She was 53.
Debbie was born September 10, 1956 in Sharon a daughter of Louis and Ann Wanacheck Caracci.
She attended Notre Dame Parochial Grade School and was a 1974 graduate of Kennedy Christian High School, both Hermitage.
Debbie was employed as a manager for several years at the McDonald's Restaurant on E. State St., Hermitage.
She was a former member of the Church of Notre Dame; Hermitage, and St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell. She was a volunteer cafeteria and kitchen worker at Msgr. Geno Monti Parochial Grade School, Farrell, and was a member of the Sharpsville VFW Auxiliary. An avid bowler, Debbie was a member of the Shenango Valley Woman's Bowling Association for 19 years and inducted into the Mercer County Bowling Hall of Fame in 2003. She was a self taught bowler at the age of 18 in the Saturday Night Ladies Trio League at Thornton Hall Lanes in Sharon. She had many accomplishments while participating in the sport, such as winning four years actual doubles in the city tournament and for three years her team won high actual series. She also took high actual singles for two years. Debbie bowled in the Hoinke Classic, Hamtramick, Lilac, WIBC, St. Clairesville and Peterson Classic. She also bowled in the Columbia 300 Pro-Am in 1987 and the Queens in Lansing, MI in 1992. She served on the board of d!
irectors for the SVWBA; was a charter member of the MCBHF and was a past president of the Greater Keystone YABA. She coached the junior leagues at the former Hickory Bowl, Hermitage, and Sunset Lanes, Farrell. Debbie was one of the area's premier female bowlers until her illness forced her to quit.
Surviving are: her son, Scott Michael Bashor, Youngstown, Ohio; her father, Marienville, PA, formerly of Sharpsville and Hermitage; two sisters, Faith Ann Forgacs and her husband Thomas, Summerville, SC; and Tina L. McGregor and her husband James, Royal Palm Beach, FL; three brothers, Louis D. Caracci, Jr., Fredericksburg, VA; George A. Caracci and his wife Dawn, Laurel, MD; and John M. Caracci and his wife Lisa, Hartford Twp. (Trumbull County) Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Her mother preceded Debbie in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Make A Wish Foundation, The Gulf Tower, 707 Grant St., 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1916.
