Deborah J. Vaughn of Sharon passed away at
10:45 p.m.
Monday, February 8, 2016, in her home, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was 54.
Debbie was born Nov. 12, 1961, in Sharon, a daughter of James and Margaret Fisher Sloan.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1980 graduate of Sharon High School.
A homemaker, she was baptized in the First Baptist Church, Sharon, where she was an active member.
Debbie enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren; writing poetry and journals and watching her two favorite movies, "Walk to Remember" and "The Notebook."
Surviving are: her significant other, Richard Shingledecker, Jr., S. Pymatuning Twp.; two daughters, Nicole Sloan and her husband Richard "Bubba" Cornell ; and Christine Vaughn; two sons, Greg Vaughn and his significant other Brittany Fowler; and Jeffrey Houston, all Sharon; her father, James Sloan and his wife Marilyn, Hubbard; 7 grandchildren, Deserae, Richard, Landen, Levin, Anthony, Eli and Bae; three sisters, Sherry Morgan, Youngstown; Tammy Buckley and her husband Donald, Greenville; and Vikki Spencer and her husband Gerry, Sharpsville; five brothers, Mike Sloan and his wife Beth, West Middlesex; Jim Sloan and his girlfriend Wendy Stranic, Cortland, Ohio; Steve Sloan, Cranberry Township, Butler County; Dave Parker and his wife Carrie, Greenville; and James Reeher, New Wilmington; and a very dear friend, Tina Simmons.

Memorial service will be
5 p.m.
Friday, February 12, 2016, in the First Baptist Church, Sharon, with the Rev. John Trojak, pastor, officiating.
A luncheon will be served for family and friends in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service.
