Obituary

Deborah Jean Brandenstein, Overlook Road, West Middlesex, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 5:12 p.m. Thursday (3-8-12) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 60.

Deborah was born January 21, 1952 in Greeley (Weld Co.) Colorado the daughter of Maynard W. and Dorothy J. Bieirbach Wallace.

She attended Greeley Central High School and later graduated from Ames Community College in Greeley where she earned her Associate's degree Liberal Arts.

Deborah worked for several local McDonalds Restaurants over the years. She also worked at the Tara Country Inn, Clark, and for the former Chi Chi's Restaurant of Hermitage. She most recently worked for Winner International?s Corporate office in downtown Sharon.

She was a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township. She was an active member of the West Middlesex VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6233. Deborah courageously battled cancer several times and was proud to have been a Relay for Life Survivor. She was active with the UPMC Horizon Hospital's cancer support group, and Sharon Regional Health Systems celiac support group. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Deborah was happiest when her entire family was together in one place.

Her husband William F. Brandenstein whom she married on September 23, 1973 in San Diego, California, survives at home.

She also leaves her two daughter, Brenda D. Brandenstein, Sharon, Cynthia M. Myers and her husband Kenneth, West Middlesex, and her one son, Jason L . Brandenstein , West Middlesex, and a son in law Shawn A. Winner, Sharon. She will be sadly missed by her 9 Grandchildren, Dakota, Brent, Tyler, Hunter, Cheyenne, Sierra, Kahlan, Rachel, and Nathan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Allan Wallace, and one sister Pam Wallace.

Her family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in Deborah's name to please consider the American Cancer Society, or the Relay for Life in Mercer County. Donations can be made through the funeral home office.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (3-13-12) and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday (3-14-12) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (3-14-12) in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rev. Augie Hurst, pastor of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Robin Tripp, co officiating.

Cremation: will follow services. Arrangements by the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
