A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday for Dawn E. Bornes of St. Paul's, West Salem Township, formerly of Leona Street, Sharpsville. She passed away peacefully at 11:45 a.m. Monday (7-23-12) in St. Paul's after an extended illness. She was 78.

Mrs. Bornes was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Brookville, Pa., a daughter of William and Helen Hilaszek Wright.

She graduated from Sharon Regional Hospital's School of Nursing, Sharon, and went on to work as a registered nurse for 25 years at what is now known as Sharon Regional Health System.

She belonged to St. Bartholomew's Church, Sharpsville.

Her husband, Louis M. Bornes, whom she married Aug. 10, 1957, passed away Sept. 12, 1999.

She is survived by her three sons, Dennis Bornes and his wife Debbie, Sharpsville; and David Bornes and Louis W. Bornes; her six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Daniel Francis Bornes.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's, 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, PA 16125.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Thursday (7-26-12) in St. Bartholomew's Church, Sharpsville, with the Rev. John S. Lynch, former pastor of St. Bartholomew's Church, Sharpsville, as celebrant.
