Obituary

David Yarian of 274 S. Oakdale Ave., Hermitage, PA. passed away at 4:50 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Sharon Regional Health System. He was 66.
Mr. Yarian was born in Mercer, PA on September 6, 1942, a son of Howard M. and Jean Fyfe Yarian.
He was a 1960 graduate of Mercer High School. He then graduated with a bachelor's degree in Education from Youngstown State University, and went on to graduate with his master's degree in Library Science from Clarion University.
David served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1965.
Mr. Yarian worked for West Middlesex area schools for 30 years. He taught English, Journalism, and Public Speaking.
He was a member of the West Middlesex Education Association, a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, and a lifetime member of the National Education Association. David enjoyed gardening, philosophy, comparative religion, meditation, and yoga.
Survivors include: his wife, Koral Mowry Yarian, whom he married June 25, 1966; 2 daughters, Emily and her husband Freddie Rodrigue of Downey, CA, and Sara and her husband James Hale of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Denise Taplin of Washington DC; 2 grandchildren, Chase Rodrigue and Koren Hale.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his step mother, Helen Paxton who raised David; a second step-mother, Ida Butler.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with Rev. Douglas K. Dayton.
A precession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m.
