Obituary

David A. Rhodanz, 128 S. Walnut St., Sharpsville, passed away at 3 p.m. Friday (3-13-09) in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was 65.
Mr. Rhodanz was born November 29, 1943 in Sharon a son of the late Melvin and Catherine Hunt Rhodanz.
He was a 1962 graduate of West Middlesex High School and served with the US Navy.
Dave retired from Don Lark and Son's Excavating, West Middlesex, where he was employed as a truck driver and laborer for 20 years.
An outdoorsman, he was a passionate hunter. Dave was an avid NASCAR fan and would often attend the races. He also enjoyed playing cards and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Ruth J. Black; a daughter, Lori J. Mattocks and her husband Roger, West Middlesex; a son, Scott R. Rhodanz and his wife Nancy, Sharpsville; a step-daughter, Rhonda J. Sterba and her husband Brian, Sharpsville; a sister, Diane Schibli and her husband Pete and their family, Hermitage; two brothers, Richard Rhodanz and his wife Susie and their family, Girard, Ohio; and Daniel Rhodanz and his wife Jodi and their family, Clark; and seven grandchildren, David, Brittany, Dawn, Lenny, Nicole, Kendra and Sean.
Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to time of service Thursday (3-19-09) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Thursday (3-19-09) in the funeral home with Rev. Larry Haines, pastor of Grace Chapel Community Church, Hermitage, officiating.
