David F. Joseph, 96, formerly of Farrell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 24, 2026, in St. Paul’s Villas, Greenville, PA, following a recent illness.
Mr. Joseph was born August 2, 1929, in Farrell, a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Valetich) Joseph. After graduating from Farrell High School in 1947, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Youngstown College and later completed his graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Master's degree in Education.
David served his entire career in the Farrell Area School District, where he began as a teacher and served as principal of all six elementary schools, culminating in the role of administrator for the school district, retiring after 30 years of service.
David was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and was a past member and president of the Kiwanis Club, both in Farrell.
An avid golfer, he was very proud to have scored two holes-in-one throughout his playing days. David was a ferocious reader and enjoyed bowling, card playing, casino games, and a great meal.
His second wife, Delores (Burnside) Joseph, whom he married on January 6, 1994, preceded him in death.
David is survived by two daughters, Carisse Mirizio, of Hermitage, and Cathy Joseph, of Plano, TX; two adored grandsons, Damian Mirizio (Laura) and Nathan Mirizio (Carly), all of Pittsburgh; three cherished great-granddaughters, Mila, Lucia, and Sophia; and former spouse, Nancy Joseph, of St. Paul’s Villa in Greenville, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by five brothers, Marlin, Conrad, Richard, Leo, and infant Thomas Joseph; as well as two nephews.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to all at the St. Paul’s facility, particularly the nurses, aides, and housekeeping staff at Villa Spring A.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday (6-30-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., in the funeral home, with Rev. Glenn Whitman, officiating.
Interment: St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Farrell.
