David W. Gervais, 69, of Hermitage, passed away Monday morning, May 12, 2025, in his home.
Mr. Gervais was born on September 3, 1955, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, a son of the late William and Carol (Huffman) Gervais. He graduated from high school in Niagara Falls and worked for the former Chemacryl. Later, he moved to the Shenango Valley and was employed for more than 25 years as a Slitter Operator at Liberty Steel, Warren, OH.
An avid fisherman, David also enjoyed browsing local yard sales and flea markets. He was also very social and looked forward to conversations with friends and family. David will forever be remembered as a generous man who willingly helped anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife and partner of 42 years, the former Sara "Sally" Weller, whom he married on December 23, 1991; a daughter, Mary "Maggie" Nickols and her husband, Adam, of Greenville; a son, Justin Gervais and his wife, Ami, of Sharon; four grandchildren, Aiden and Leah Gervais, and Sarah and Jaxon Nickols; and a sister, Debbie Hilbig and her husband, Ken, Kincardine, ON, and her children, Becky, Rachel and Lisa.
The family will receive guests from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday (05/15/2025) in Christ Lutheran Church, 396 Buhl Blvd., Sharon, PA, with Rev. Dennis Blauser, pastor, officiating.
