Obituary
David A. Fennell, 59, of New Castle passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at his residence.
Mr. Fennell was born on April 16, 1957, in New Castle, a son of Wayne and Shirley Ruth Zorens Fennell.
A lifelong area resident, he graduated from the former Lawrence County Vo-Tech in 1975.
David was employed as a Lay Fitter by Bridges & Towers Inc., and the former Conn Construction Co. of New Castle.
His hobbies included fishing, gardening and watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams on television.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren.
David married the former Marcia Flynn on Aug. 26, 1978. She survives.
Also surviving are his three daughters, Maria (William) Hurd of Ellwood City, Sarah (Chad) Emery and Leah Fennell, all of New Castle; three sons, Ben, Cory and Thomas Fennell, all of New Castle; his mother, Shirley Ruth Fennell of New Castle; his sister, Karen Wilson; three brothers, Wayne Skip, Peter and John Fennell; along with his nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Fennell, and his grandson, Caleb Fennell.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St.
A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 5 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Darren Abraham, pastor of Gardner Chapel Assembly of God.
Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
