David F. Bain, 69, of Sharpsville passed away surrounded by his family Sunday evening, September 24, 2023, in UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an illness.
Mr. Bain was born July 19, 1954, in Sharon, a son of the late Andrew and Rose (Heimburger) Bain, and graduated from Mercer High School.
Following graduation, Dave worked at the former Sharon Transformer Div. of Westinghouse Electric Corp.. He and his brother were also co-owners of the Glen-Rose Inn in Sharpsville for many years. It is said by many local customers, "The Glen-Rose Inn burgers and steak sandwiches were the best in the valley." Dave was a talented carpenter and installed all of the beautiful woodwork within the Glen-Rose Inn. Later, Dave worked for the United States Post Office at the New Castle Distribution Center, and ultimately retired from the Distribution Center in Warrendale, PA.
A talented musician with an amazing singing voice, Dave was self-taught on several instruments, including drums, harmonica, flute, saxophone, and his favorite instrument, guitar. He and his brother were part of the Glen-Rose Band which performed at many venues throughout the Valley. Dave also played in several other local bands.
Later in life, Dave enjoyed spending time with his friends and engaging in theological discussions. He liked watching movies, especially comedies and was fond of having family cookouts where he experimented with meat rubs cooked in his smoker. He recently completed a pergola for his wife and family to enjoy in their backyard. Most of all, Dave loved spending time with his family, especially while watching his grandsons play sports and games when they visited.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, the former Connie Buchanan; a daughter, Shannon Seese (David), Hubbard, OH; a son, David Bain, Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Robert Bain (Terri), Hermitage; a niece, Barbara Theofilos (George), Cleveland, OH; two nephews, Robert Bain, Gettysburg, PA, and Jonathan Bain, Hermitage; and four grandchildren, Tommy, Lucas, Nicholas, and Jonas.

Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with Bruce Rosa, First Baptist Church of Sharpsville, officiating.
Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
