Darlee Jackson, 86, of Sharon, passed away on Monday afternoon, October 10, 2022, in Clepper Manor, Sharon.

Mrs. Jackson was born on December 4, 1935, in Sharon, a daughter of the late John and Anne (Galbreath) May. She was a 1953 graduate of Sharon High School and earned her bachelor's degree in education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

She enjoyed a 30-year career as an English teacher from 1962 until 1992 at Sharpsville High School. At the school, she also served as the yearbook advisor. Darlee was a member of the Local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an education honorary and Prospect Heights Literary Group.

Darlee was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon, where she wrote the church history, chaired the Directory Committee, and served on the Hospitality Committee for the Diocesan Convention.

On December 29, 1956, Darlee married her high school sweetheart, John Jackson.

She is survived by three children, Shelley Jackson, Jeff (Laura) Jackson, all of Hermitage, and Greg (Karyn) Jackson, Ventura, CA; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Thomas, Sarah and Gaby; a sister, Beth Taylor; and her lifelong and childhood friend, Erma Davies, both of Hermitage.

In addition to her parents, Darlee was preceded in death by her husband, John; and two brothers, David and Jon May.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. John's Episcopal Church, 226 West State St., Sharon, PA 16146.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (10/13/2022) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday (10/14/2022) in St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon, with Rev. Dr. Adam Trambley, pastor, officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
