Danielle Paige Nelson, 15, of Hermitage passed away Sunday evening, February 10, 2019, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born May 26, 2003, in Sewickley, PA, a daughter of James Patrick and Courtney Lynn (Ciambotti) Nelson.  Danielle was a sophomore at Hickory High School where she was active in many extracurricular activities.

She participated in the Academic Games, which advanced to the Nationals in Tennessee last year, and played the clarinet in the high school marching band.  She performed in the school's musicals and was a member of the Show Choir and the Young Life Christian Club.  Danielle was also a triple and long jumper on the high school track team, however, her true passion was cross country, where her teammates and coaches were like a second family.

Danielle was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.

She leaves her loving parents, Courtney Nelson, at home and Pat Nelson, of Albany, NY; her brother, whom she adored and supported throughout her life, Alexander James Nelson, a senior at Hickory High School; her grandparents, Dr. Vincent and Patricia Ciambotti, of Sharon;  James Nelson and his wife Joni, of Indiana and Lynn Lund and her husband Steve, of Georgia; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lydia's Love Moments Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern OH, 7 W. State St., Sharon, PA 16146; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 9:30 Thursday, February 14, 2019, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.,  1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019, in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage .  Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
