Daniel J. Wilson

Daniel J. Wilson, 67, of Hermitage, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at UPMC Passavant Hospital, following a short illness.

Dan was born on October 18, 1958, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son of the late James W. and Jean (Cardille) Wilson. He attended St. Joseph’s Parochial Grade School and later graduated from Kennedy Christian High School, Hermitage, PA, in 1976.

He was employed for many years at Sharon Custom Metal Forming and was a longtime parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church.

Dan is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pamela (Luchey) Wilson. They are the parents of three children, Amy Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, and Brian Wilson (Sydney). Dan was the proud grandfather of Parker Rogers and Juniper Wilson, and Parker joyfully called him "Pop Pop." Dan is also survived by three brothers, Michael, Robert (Fran), and James (Meg); and a sister, Mary.

Dan enjoyed many interests during his life including the men's bowling league at Thornton Hall, trivia games, and his pet dogs, Max and Molly. He was an avid sports fan, ardently devoted to Pittsburgh's Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Dan was a fan of the Grateful Dead, proud Democrat, daily solver of New York Times word puzzles, and aficionado of old sitcoms - especially the Andy Griffith Show.

Dan was happiest when engaged in activities with his family, often extended to include his various aunts, uncles, and cousins among the Wilsons, Cardilles, and Coans. He often spoke fondly of his days at the Wilson family cottage on Lake Erie in Saybrook, Ohio. Dan also enjoyed playing cards with his children, participating in their youth sports activities through coaching, and sharing family meals at his favorite restaurants.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Dan’s memory to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, sv-as.com.

In keeping with Dan's wishes, there will be no viewing, and a private service will be held among family in the near future.
