Funeral service
is Friday for Daniel F. Ruhley of Hermitage, who passed away peacefully in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage, with his family by his side at 11:58 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, after a four-month illness. He was 88.
Mr. Ruhley was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Sharon, a son of Daniel L. and Katherine Donnelly Ruhley.
Dan was a 1945 graduate of Sharon High School.
He was employed by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. as a draftsman for 42 years, retiring March 1, 1985.
Dan served in the Army during peacetime in 1946 and 1947 and was stationed in New Jersey.
He enjoyed golfing and achieved a hole-in-one on the 8th hole at Tam O'Shanter Golf Course in Hermitage. He also received several trophies as a member of the Westinghouse Golf League.
Dan also was an avid reader and a frequent visitor to the Shenango Valley Community Library in Sharon.
Surviving are his two sisters, Gertrude and Rosemary Ruhley, with whom he resided.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

1 p.m. to time of service Friday (2-19-16) in J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Service:
3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Monsignor Salvatore Mitchell officiating.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
