Daniel L. Rhodanz, 71, of Clark, PA, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday morning, August 3, 2024, in Grove City Hospital.

Dan was born on January 6, 1953, in Sharon, a son of the late Melvin and Catherine Rhodanz. He graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1971, excelling in baseball and football. Dan received a full football scholarship to Clarion University, where he started four years for the Golden Eagles and received MVP twice, an unusual feat for a defensive tackle.  He was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, where he had many teammates and made some lifelong friendships. Dan graduated from Clarion with a Bachelor of Science degree.

He was a kind and generous man and rarely met a person he didn't like or couldn't talk to. Dan's personality assisted him as a Nationwide agent for 25 years.

He coached soccer and T-ball for the YMCA and Sharpsville baseball leagues.

An avid golfer, Dan belonged to two different leagues for more than 45 years. All of his life, Dan was a devout Cleveland Brown and Guardians fan. Even with the Browns record, he stayed loyal. Last year, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of attending the Football Hall of Fame. He loved this trip and came home with many facts and stories about it.

In 1971, he married the former Jody Huffman, in Franklin, PA, sharing nearly 48 years together.

Over the years, Dan spent many enjoyable vacations with his extended family at the Outer Banks. He loved experiencing new restaurants and invariably getting his feet burnt on the beach.

The last 10 years of Dan's life were spent as an active member at Grace Chapel Community Church, Hermitage. He was a lead usher and loved greeting people at the front door. Pastor Aaron was in frequent contact with Dan these last months and offered continued support through his cancer journey.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jody; a son, Josh; and his dog, Max. Also surviving is his sister, Diana L. Schibli.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and David Rhodanz.
