Daniel L. 'Danny' Pifer of 923 Indiana Ave. Farrell, formerly of 2121 Paul St. Hermitage, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was 27.
Mr. Pifer was born in Youngstown, OH on October 9, 1982, a son of Larry D. and Susan K. Smith Pifer.
Danny participated in the 2004 graduation ceremonies at Hickory High School. He attended S. Pymatuning Elementary School. Danny was a very active participant with crippled children's school and MCAR. Through MCAR he was involved in their bowling league and Temple Grove Camp. Besides his many activities he enjoyed music, attending dances, swimming, and spending time with his pet Cockatiel named 'B'. He worked at Verland Adult Training Facility.
Survivors include: his mother, Susan K. Hollobaugh of Jamestown, PA; Paternal Grandmother, Norma Dickson; Grandmother, Shirley Hollobaugh; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his dad, Randall B. Hollobaugh; maternal grandparents, Kathryn Smith, Ruth Smith, and Louis Smith; grandfather, Blair Hollobaugh.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Charles C. Eckles, pastor of I.H.S. Gospel Ministries, Hermitage.
Internment will take place in Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Huntington Bank, where an account has been established to raise money for a Bowling Banquet for Danny's Bowling League.
