Dana Allan Wagner, 60, of Sharpsville, PA, passed away with family and loved ones at his side on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at UPMC Jameson in New Castle, PA, after an inspiring battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born September 5, 1964, in Lackawanna, NY, he was a 1982 graduate of Kennedy Christian High School in Hermitage.
Dana was revered for his strong work ethic, especially after continuing to work two jobs once he won a million dollars on a scratch-off lottery ticket. He was most recently employed as a truck driver for Dean Dairy, and previously worked at Wheatland Tube and Joy Cone.
Dana was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and a lifelong supporter of Vietnam Veterans and their cause.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Wallace) Wagner, Sharpsville; his parents, Kenneth and Gretchen (Owens) Wagner, of Hermitage; his three children, Michael Wagner (Kat), Woodbridge, VA, Todd Wagner and wife Francisca, Port St. Lucie, FL; and Lana Wallace, of Slippery Rock, PA; four step-sons who he raised as his own, Michael Fuchs, Jr. (Azia), Frank Fuchs (Heather), Dustin Fuchs, and Zachary Fuchs; grandchildren, Lily Wagner, Valentina and Luke Wagner, and Roczen Fuchs and Kinlee Cunningham; two brothers, Andy Wagner (Debbie), Evans City, PA, and Ben Wagner (Danielle), Sharon; a sister, Laura Spayd (Tom), Elyria, OH; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and his former spouse, Brenda Jones Peterson, Okeechobee, FL.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Peg Owens; paternal grandparents, George and Lillian Wagner; two aunts, Mary Ann Carter and Cathy Friedrich; and an uncle, Ronald Wagner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Dana's name to Tunnel to Towers, online at: t2t.org; or a local Veteran's Organization of the donor's choosing.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (11-15-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State Street, Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday (11-16-24) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, with Rev. Richard Allen, as celebrant, and Deacon Frank Hanna, assisting.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
