Dana Ann States, 65, of Hermitage, was born January 22, 1960, in Sharon, PA, to David and Mary Ann (Slattery) Germano, lived a life overflowing with love, faith, and vibrancy. On March 5, 2025, surrounded by family, Dana peacefully closed a chapter of her remarkable journey after a courageous battle with cancer.

Known for her infectious energy, Dana brought people together with her exquisite baking and cooking skills, filling hearts and stomachs alike. She thrived outdoors, nurturing her garden, crafting birdhouses, and cutting grass with joy. Her love for music, creativity, and connection made her a cherished presence in every gathering. Above all, her family, especially her beloved grandsons, was the center of her world.

Dana shared 46 extraordinary years with the love of her life, Robert States, whom she married April 10, 1979. Together, they built a beautiful family and countless memories, from their adventures in Houston, TX, to their roots in the Shenango Valley. Known for her chatter and deep friendships, Dana left a lasting mark on everyone she met.

In addition to her husband, Dana is survived by her three children, Robert States (Abby), Danielle Adams (Mike), and Megan States (Harleigh); three grandsons, twins Parker and Carson, and Landry States, her mother, Mary Ann Germano, two siblings, Lisa Germano and David Germano; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who became family.

Preceded in death by her father, David Germano; and a sister, Cathy Sue Haun, Dana now reunites with them in peace.

Loved ones will be received from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday (3-11-25) at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m., in the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Rudge and Rev. Dr. B.J. Rudge, co-officiating.
