Cynthia Ann Burns of Edinburg passed away unexpectedly at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle.
She was 62.
Mrs. Burns was born October 7, 1953, in New Castle, a daughter of Leonard R. and Mary Kathryn "Kay" Trego Morris.
She was a 1971 graduate of New Castle High School and attended the former New Castle Business College.

of this year as office manager of the New Castle Sanitation Authority where she was employed for 39 years.
A homemaker, she attended the Calvary Independent Church, New Castle.
Surviving are: her husband of 37 years, Thomas L. Burns, whom she married February 24, 1979; a daughter, Leigh Ann Burns, Edinburg; a grandson whom she adored, Evan Burns; three sisters, Linda K. Hansotte and her husband Ronald, New Castle; Judith G. Marett and her husband Craig, Volant; and Ruth M. Metro and her husband Danny, Lafayette, IN; a brother, Leonard Russell Morris and his wife Lynne, New Castle; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marilyn Joan McCaskill.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, Ohio 44514.
