Obituary

Craig A. Redmond, 304 Cedar Ave., Sharon, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday (11-30-11) in the Akron Burn Unit after sustaining burns from an accidental fire at his garage on Saturday. He was 53.

Mr. Redmond was born October 20, 1958 in Franklin, PA a son of Kenneth and Elsie Shaw Redmond.

He attended Reynold's High School and served with the Army.

Craig was last employed by Sharon Tube Co. at its former Brookfield division for eight years. He previously worked for more than ten years at the cheese plant in West Middlesex.

Craig enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Farrell.

Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Alice Joann Daniels, whom he married July 27, 2002; two children, Brandy Davis and Josh Redmond, both Tennessee; his mother and step-father, Elsie and Walter Redmond, Transfer; a step-daughter, Kimberly Shelatree and her boyfriend Jimmy Flynn, Sharon; three grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Dolby; and Jordan Swogger; three step-grandchildren, Ashley, Ernie and Tiffany Shelatree; a sister, Rose Payne and her husband Jeff, Georgia; four brothers, Todd and Walter Redmond, both Transfer; Melvin Redmond, Greenville; and Frank Redmond and his wife Carol, Georgia; a son-in-law Donald Shelatree; his father, Ken Redmond; and several nieces and nephews, including Lisa Swartz and Shawn Redmond.

Craig was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Redmond; and his grandparents, Frances and Norman Shaffstall.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday (12-6-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Interment: Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
