Cora Jean Perschke, 87, of New Castle, passed away peacefully the morning of Friday July 8, 2016, at Clen-Moore Place.
Cora was born November 3, 1928, in New Castle to the Late John S. and Hester Wyrie Day.
She was a graduate of New Castle High School.
Cora was married to the love of her life, George Russell Perschke on November 7, 1952 in the Third Presbyterian Church and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2015.
She was first employed at the former Riley Feed Store and later worked in the office of Attorney Thomas Andrews for several years.
Cora was a member of Keys to The Kingdom Church. A devout Christian, Cora had a "servant's heart" and led countless people to Christ.
Along with her devoted husband, she worked with Habitat for Humanity for 12 Years and helped build 144 homes. They began their ministry with Habitat in Georgia and traveled as far as Tucson, AZ.
She is survived by a son Garry Perschke and his wife Pam, of Fairfield, Oh: Two daughters, Paula Burford and her husband,Thomas of Los Lunas, N.M. and Betty Caputo and her husband Carl of Beaver Falls; seven grandchildren, Daniel Perschke and his wife, Katie, Michael Perschke and his wife, Lindsey, Marlaina Paulovich, Merril and George Caputo: and Kelsey and Nathan Burford; three great grandchildren, Giada Caputo, and Jacob and Lucas Perschke.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, husband a sister Emma Lou Barcus and a brother Robert Day and a Grandson in law Asa Paulovich.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. St.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 11, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Herman Cemetery.
