Funeral services will be Wednesday for Clarence R. "Dick" Weiser Sr. of West Middlesex, who passed away at 8:25 p.m. Friday (4-5-13) in UPMC Passavant. He was 69. Mr. Weiser was born April 14, 1943, in Sharon, a son of Albert and Dorothy Deiger Weiser. He attended West Middlesex schools. Dick enlisted in the Navy and served from 1961 to 1964 on the USS Essex and was stationed on one of the ships that surrounded Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Weiser was employed in the grinding yard of Sharon Steel for more than 28 years. He retired as the yard manager for the former Stupka Pontiac dealership. Dick was an active member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex; and Wheatland American Legion Post 432, where he served as chaplain and served proudly on the honor guard. He coached baseball for many years and played softball and bowled in the Sharon Steel leagues. Dick also enjoyed golfing, trout fishing and hunting, and was a avid Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His wife, Barbara Buczo, whom he married in 1976, passed away in 1997. Surviving are: 3 daughters, Brenda Fraley of Wheatland, Dawn Spaulding and her husband Chuck of Mercer, Christine Tucci and her husband Brad of Hermitage; 4 sons, Rick and his wife Amy of Farrell, Jim and his wife Kim of Wheatland, Gene and his wife Michele with whom Dick made his home, Richie, who is on active duty in the United States Navy and his wife Jill of , Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Twila Miller of Hermitage; a brother James Weiser of Farrell; 16 grandchildren, Steven, Jason and Heather Fraley, Jacob, Nicole, and Jenna Weiser, Chucky Spaulding, Tiphani Spaulding, Jordan, and Colton Weiser, Shelbi Gallagher, Sheryl and Kayleigh Weiser, Tyler George, Brytney Tucci, and Noah Weiser; a great grandchild, Aiden R. Weiser; Dick is also survived by a special friend, Pat Rodemoyer; close friends, Bob and Fred Mosley; and an aunt Betty Weiser; a niece, Sandy Neal and her husband Tom; a great nephew, Jared. He also leaves two step-daughters Barbara Rodgers of Sharon and April Splitstone of Jefferson Ohio and three step-sons George Budetich of Sharon Troy Budetich of Erie and Brett Budetich of Marienville. In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by, a son, Albert R. Weiser; a brother, Albert Weiser; a brother in law, Harold Miller.
