Clarence “Bud” Miller, 98, of Hermitage, passed away Sunday morning, March 22, 2026, at his home under hospice care.
Mr. Miller was born September 23, 1927, in Greenville, PA, a son of the late Charles and Mary Miller. After graduating from Penn High School in Greenville, PA, he attended Thiel College, also in Greenville.
A veteran of the U.S. Army Corps, Bud served as a control tower operator in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during WWII.
After working in the kitchen department at both Montgomery Ward and Greenville Lumber, Bud became a co-owner of the Kitchen Center in Sharon, PA, which later relocated to Hermitage. In 1983, Bud retained sole ownership of the Hermitage location with his son, Jim.
Bud was a longtime member of the former Hickory United Methodist Church, now Hickory Global Methodist, Hermitage.
An avid racing enthusiast, Bud created the All-Star Circuit of Champions in 1970, a circuit for sprint car dirt track racing that remains one of the most popular forms of racing to this day.
His beloved wife of 50 years, Jacquelyn Miller, preceded him in death on January 25, 2006.
Bud is survived by two daughters, Laura Shetler (Ron), of Atlantic, PA, and Kim Werner (Craig), of Lake Forest, IL; a son, Jim Miller (Dennise Lindsay), of Hermitage; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bud was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Annichenni; two brothers, Cecil and Earl Miller.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Rd., Hermitage, PA, 16148; or The Cranberry Area Food Pantry, P.O. Box 446 Seneca, PA 16346.
In keeping with his wishes, a private service will be held by his family.
Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
