Clarence Ray "Bud" Meckley, Jr., 73, of Jefferson Twp. passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Allegheny Health Network, Grove City, PA.

Mr. Meckley was born on August 13, 1951, in Mercer, a son of the late Clarence and Nancy (Todhunter) Meckley, Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of Mercer High School and attended the former Edinboro University, Farrell Campus.

Bud spent his career working in maintenance, beginning at the former County Home and later transferred to the Mercer County Courthouse.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, walking and meticulously taking care of his lawn. Bud was also musically inclined and a talented Bass player. He was also a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Harakal, whom he married on October 25, 1980; two sisters, Joanne DeWoody, of Franklin, PA, and Marta Meckley Velasquez and her husband Marco, of Honduras; a brother, Richard Meckley and his wife Melanie, Raliegh, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by a brother, John Meckley; and a brother-in-law, Ron DeWoody.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Hillman Cancer Center, 2200 Memorial Drive, Farrell, PA 16121.
