Clarence J. Glenn Daoust, Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully at 6:15 p.m. on Monday (8-31-09) in White Cliff Nursing Home, Greenville, following a battle with cancer. He was 84.
Mr. Daoust was born on December 17, 1924 in Plattsburg, NY. the son of Henry and Evelyn Duval Daoust.
He retired from the former Sharon Steel Corporations Farrell plant in 1987 with 40 years of service.
A decorated veteran, he served during WWII with the United States Army and was honorably discharged on January 1, 1944 with the Eastern African Middle Eastern Ribbon, European Theater of Operation Ribbon, and the WWII Victory Medal.
Glenn, as he was known by his family and friends, will be remembered for his patriotism and loyalty to his country.
He enjoyed cycling, gardening, and he especially enjoyed creating patriotic flower gardens of red, white, and blue.
He was a former member of Church of the Sacred Heart and current member of St. Joseph's Church, both Sharon.
He leaves his two sons, Donald J. Daoust and his wife Susan Diane (Calvin), Transfer, and Kenneth J. Daoust and his wife Christal (Iorio) Hermitage; six grandchildren, Theresa Daoust, Nancy Daoust and her Fiancé Jeff Baire, Melissa Galaska and her husband Brian; Bernadette Jackard and her husband Daniel; and Joseph Daoust and his fiancé Elizabeth Snook, and Benny Daoust; nine grandchildren, Kaitlin, Marilyn, Nathan, Marissa, Malinda; Taylor, Isabella, Baylee and Zoe; one brother, Robert Daoust, Plattsburgh, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jeanette, three brothers, Roger, Donald and Russell, a great grandson, Aidan Jackard, and his former wife Elizabeth Ann Fornelli Daoust.

Service: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday (9-3-09) at 1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors provided by the Sharon Honor Guard.
