Obituary
Clara Marjorie 'Marge' Raub, 106 Wilson Rd., New Castle, PA passed away unexpectedly at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012, in the emergency room of Jameson Hospital. She was 80.
Mrs. Raub was born April 23, 1931 in Crooked Tree, Ohio a daughter of the late Ernest Hanford and Lila Bell Mincks Chandler.
She attended the former Dexter City (Ohio) High School and moved to the area in 1948.
Marge was an exceptional homemaker and a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church, New Castle. For the past twelve years, she managed the North Beaver Tennis Club. A woman of many talents, she was an accomplished seamstress, a master quilter and enjoyed crocheting. She was also into crafts, which she loved to paint, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Along with her husband, Marge was a charter member of Paw's and Taw's square dance club. Marge was very devoted to her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Surviving are: her husband of 63 years at home, Robert Forrest Raub, Sr., whom she married March 20, 1948 in Highland Presbyterian Church; a daughter, Peggy Symons and her husband Allen, New Castle; two sons, Robert Forrest Raub, Jr. and his wife Karen, New Castle; and Darrell Edward Raub and his wife Susan, Edinburg; six grandchildren, Rachel Werhnyak, Rebecca Thompson, Mark Symons, Russell Symons, Jennifer Haynes and Jessica Sabik; six great grandchildren, Lyla, Heath, Ally, Hailey, Caden and Avery; and two brothers, Robert H. Chandler and his wife Mildred, Lowell, Ohio; and W. Edward Chandler and his wife Betty, Warren, Ohio.
Besides her parents, Marge was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Joe Raub who died in infancy.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Highland Presbyterian Church, 708 Highland Ave., New Castle, PA 16101.
