Clara Mae McMillan, 90, of Farrell passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, in St. Claire Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

Mrs. McMillan was born June 25, 1933, in Mercer, a daughter of the late Earl and Annie Oweida Smith Rucker, and graduated from Mercer High School in 1951.

A dedicated homemaker for many years, she later worked as a cleaning specialist at Sharon Regional Hospital for 20 years.

Clara was an active and longtime member of Ruth AME Zion Church in Sharon where she often volunteered her talents as a cook to provide food for church events and fundraisers.

She was an exceptional hostess who enjoyed cooking for gatherings with family and friends. Every month, Clara loved meeting up with her former classmates for dinner.

Her husband of 33 years, Frank McMillan, whom she married in 1952, preceded her in death in 1985.

Clara is survived by a daughter, Tina Marie McMillan, Sharon; a son, Frank McMillan, Jr. (Robin), Bethel Park, PA; one grandson, Matthew F. McMillan (Danielle), Dormont, PA; many nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Clara was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Scotton; two sisters, Audrey Jean Rucker and Minnetta A. Phillips; and three brothers, Wilbur and James Rucker, and Earl Rucker, Jr.

The family suggests memorial donations be directed to Ruth AME Zion Church, 95 W Connelly Blvd, Sharon, PA 16146.

Calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday (6-10-24) in Ruth AME Zion Church.

A Homegoing Celebration will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, in the church, with Pastor Marion Wheeler, as officiant and eulogist.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
