Obituary
Cindy A. Guarnieri of Greenville passed away at
12:50 p.m.
Friday, November 27, 2015, in Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle, after an extended illness.
She was 57.
Cindy was born Feb. 24, 1958, in Mercer, a daughter of Tony and Genevieve Lapiga Guarnieri. She was a graduate of Grove City High School and years ago worked at the former Wave Restaurant in downtown Sharon.
Cindy was a hard worker and was employed for twenty years at Sawhill Tubular Products, which later became Wheatland Tube, as a welder/millwright. She was a grievance officer for her union and a member and officer of the Women of Steel.
Cindy enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, cooking, riding her Harley Davidson, yard work and maintaining her property. She also loved animals and would often rescue those that were neglected or abandoned.
Surviving are: her parents, Tony and Gen Guarnieri, Volant; her husband of nine years, John Sercia, at home; two daughters, Holly M. Eppinger, Greenville; and Victoria Arena, Las Vegas, NV; a son, Domenic Arena, Pittsburgh; six grandchildren whom she adored, Shyne, Bryon, Gabriel, Angelo, Derek and Levi; two sisters, Linda Brand and her husband Uli, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Luann Guarnieri, Las Vegas; a brother, Ron Guarnieri and his wife Robyn, Volant; a step-daughter, Natalea Sercia, Mercer; and nieces and nephew, Kristine, Jaime, Emily and Ryan.
Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Elizabeth Guarnieri; and Pete and Julia Lapiga.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 , in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home.
