Christopher W. Thomas, 63, of West Middlesex went peacefully to the house of the Lord, Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer.
Mr. Thomas was born October 26, 1954, in Detroit, MI, a son of Bill and Ellen (Walkem) Thomas. Raised in Michigan, he was a 1972 graduate of Northville High School.
A truck driver, Chris drove for T. Bruce Sales, Inc, West Middlesex, as well as Elite Trucking and I.T.C. Trucking, both in Wausau, WI. He then served as a Pennsylvania State Constable for eight years, working in both Lawrence and Mercer counties. A very skilled "handyman," Chris also completed many constructions jobs throughout the years.
He served as a volunteer fireman for 35 years, locally at the Shenango Twp. VFD and West Middlesex VFD, as well as serving at the local VFD in Wausau, WI.
He enjoyed golfing and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Red Wings. Chris loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also like spending time with his pet dog, Putz, and his cat, Jaster.
Surviving are: his wife of 25 years, the former Wendy Pearson, whom he married May 12, 1993; a daughter, Carrie Coleman, Wausau, WI; two sons, Benjamin (Olivia) Thomas, Madison, WI, and Michael (Shannon) Thomas, Dallas, TX; a stepson, Jim Blaire, II, Franklin; his mother, Ellen Thomas; and two sisters, Penny Reid and Kelley Thomas, all of Montague, WI; and a brother, Billy (Paula) Thomas, Tomahawk, WI; 3 grandchildren; a step grandson; and a step great grandchild.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Bill Thomas; and a step son, Jeffrey Blaire.
The family will be having a celebration of life service at a later date.
