Christopher C. McVay of New Castle, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 9:15 p.m. in his residence. He was 34.

Mr. McVay was born in New Castle, PA on April 2, 1976, a son of Charles and Patricia Boylan McVay.

He graduated from Shenango High School. Following high school, Chris followed his passion for music and toured with his two bands, Heel to Toe and Lonesome Road. Christopher was an excellent guitar player and loved to sing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, friends, and his Australian Shepherd, Sam.

He is survived by, his mother, Patricia McVay of Columbus, OH; 3 brothers, Scott McVay of England, Charlie McVay and James McVay both of Pennsylvania; 3 sisters, Joann McVay, Toni Norris, and Susan Simmons all of Pennsylvania; He is also survived by his special friends, Rick, Ricky, Brenda, April, Frankie, and Bart and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by his father; brother, Timothy McVay; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Calling Hours will be on Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. Falls St. New Castle, PA 16101.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Larry Llewellyn, pastor of Hoover Heights Church.

Internment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
