Dr. Christopher A Enoch, 53, of Hermitage, passed away on February 8, 2025.
Chris was born on February 24, 1971, a son of Donald E. and Nancy L. (Lasky) Enoch. A 1989 graduate of West Middlesex High School, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine from Mercyhurst College in 1993 where he graduated magna cum laude. Chris then matriculated at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) where he was valedictorian and received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1997 as part of the inaugural class. Dr. Enoch completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh where he was named resident of the year for two consecutive years. He then completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Enoch joined The Kidney Group in 2002 and went on to become a partner and treasurer of the group. He enjoyed his beloved partners and was proud to be their colleague and friend. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, he was a member of the American and Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Associations, American Society of Nephrology, Lawrence County Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, National Kidney Foundation, Renal Physicians Association, International Society of Nephrology, and American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Enoch enjoyed teaching and served as an assistant professor of Internal Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University and as a clinical preceptor at Chatham College in Pittsburgh. Dr. Enoch served on the Board of Sharon Regional Hospital and, for the last 23 years, was a staff member and cared for patients at fourteen hospitals and dialysis centers in the region.
Chris met the love of his life, Melissa Viggiano, while in medical school. They married in 2000 and later welcomed their three children, Alexandra, Aidan, and Arianna who were the center of his world. In addition to his passion for his career and family, Chris enjoyed exercising, hunting, playing golf, and basketball. He was recently chosen to be inducted into the West Middlesex High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding, record-setting basketball career. Chris will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and compassion.
Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Frances Lasky; and paternal grandparents, Gilford and Dorothy Enoch.
In addition to his parents, wife, and children, he leaves behind his dear brother, Sean Enoch; mother-in-law, Fran Viggiano; sister-in-law, Maria (Chuck) Sapienza; brother-in-law, Michael (Lynn Colaiacovo) Viggiano; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chris was deeply committed to his children's passions - especially academically. A time of reflection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, in the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Monday, in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, with Rev. John Miller as celebrant.
