Christine D. Stewart of New Castle passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle. She was 92.

Mrs. Stewart was born October 12, 1925, in Birmingham, England, a daughter of Thomas and Doris (Maund) Weller. She was raised and educated in England, and immigrated to the United States in 1947.

She met her husband, Edward Stewart, while he was serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. The two were married February 27, 1947, and he preceded her in death May 23, 2003.

A homemaker, Christine also enjoyed reading and had an exceptional talent for knitting.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Christine was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thomas Weller, Jr.

In keeping with her wishes, all services will be held privately.

Interment: Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington.
