?Cherie A. Vendilli, 81, of New Castle passed away peacefully at 2:28 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, in UPMC Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Vendilli was born March 6, 1936, in Sharon, Pa., a daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Kerr Kelly.
She was a 1954 graduate of Farrell High School and later completed secretarial courses at the former Youngstown Business School.
A homemaker, Cherie dedicated her life to caring for her husband and family.
She was a member of St. Vitus Church, New Castle.
Cherie was also a former member of Ladies of the Dukes.
She enjoyed traveling, particularly trips to the beach, with her husband, Tony.
Cherrie married her husband of 62 years, Anthony F. Vendilli, on July 2, 1955, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Anthony (Michelle) Vendilli of Hermitage; a sister, Marianne (Fred) Garrett of Wheatland; a grandson, Chris (Tracey) Vendilli and their two daughters, Natalie and Giulia, all of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents and stepmother, Sadie Kelly, Cherie was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Springer.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (11-21-17) at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (11-22-17) in St. Mary Church, Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, 124 N. Beaver St., with Rev. Frank Almade, pastor, as celebrant.
