Charlotte Edith Wiesen, O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center, Masury, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Saturday (11-8-08) at 11:18 a.m. in the home following an extended illness. She was 85.
She was born on December 24, 1922 Hubbard, Ohio, the daughter of Ernest Ray and Mamie Murtaugh Edwards.
She attended Liberty Schools, Liberty Ohio.
Mrs. Wiesen worked for 15 years at what is now known as Sharon Regional Health System in their central supply department and retired in 1987.
She was a member of St. Josephs Church, Sharon.
In her earlier years she enjoyed playing bingo and recently she enjoyed taking part in the activities with the Activities Department at O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center.
Her husband Richard J. Wiesen Sr. whom she married on December 15, 1943, passed away on May 12, 1981.
She is survived by her children, Richard J. Wiesen Jr. and his wife Panchita of Pensacola, Florida, Carol Banks and her husband Clancy, Liberty Twp., Raymond C. Wiesen and his wife Karen, Masury Oh., Anthony L. Wiesen of Homosassa Florida, Anne Yarabenetz and her husband Richard, Brookfield, Oh., Marion Abdeljabbar, Alabaster, Alabama, David E. Wiesen, Binghamton, NY, Debbie Hartwick the wife of the late Rick Hartwick, Sharpsville, Elizabeth Putnam and her husband Jon, Live Oak, TX, a sister Margaret Kinder, Cleveland, TX, 26 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter Mary Jane who passed away in November of 1955, and an infant granddaughter Connie Marie Banks, three brothers Thomas and Earl Edwards, and William Harper, one sister Alice Harper Bortmas.
