Charles Howard Sutton of Sharon passed away of natural causes at
11:35 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, in his home.
He was 93.
Mr. Sutton was born July 7, 1922, in Meadville, PA, a son of Ralph and Loretta Ferlin Sutton.
He attended Meadville High School and served with the Army in Germany during WW II.
Mr. Sutton moved to the Shenango Valley in 1948 and was employed for 36 years on the railroad at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant, retiring in 1984.
He was a life member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge # 810, Hermitage, and the International Order of the Moose.
Chuck served as an auxiliary police officer for the City of Sharon during the1950's and 1960's.
He loved politics and was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
He will be remembered by many as a kind, gentle and loving man who loved to dance with his wife.
May he rest in peace.
Surviving are: his wife of 71 years, the former Margaret Loretta Trace, whom he married Nov. 14, 1944; three children, David Sutton and his wife Nora, Massillon, Ohio; and Charlene Napierkoski and Regina Gensko, both Sharon; four grandchildren, Tracey, Tommy, Alicia and Brittany; six great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Connor, Nathan, Cameron, Cale and Cooper; two sisters, Grace O'Jello, Hoxie, MI; and Ruth Taylor, Troy, Alabama; and a brother, Ralph Sutton, Hilton Head, SC.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Sutton; a granddaughter, Amy Sutton Harry; a son-in-law, Charles Napierkoski; two brothers, Joe and Raymond Ferlin; and a cousin, Clovis "Butch" Bacon.
There are no calling hours.
Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
