Charles Richard "Dick" Steines, 88, of West Middlesex passed away Tuesday morning, February 13, 2024, following a brief illness.

Mr. Steines was born July 9, 1935, in Sharon, a son of Charles M. and Margaret (Davies) Steines. After graduating from Sharon High School in 1953, he attended Gannon University, Erie, for two years, and completed a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering at Penn State University, State College, PA.

Dick served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961 and was on the teaching staff at the Nuclear Weapons School in Albuquerque, NM.

Following his honorable discharge, he began his career as an industrial engineer with the Packard Electric Division of the General Motors Corp., retiring as a sales manager in 1990. During retirement, Dick worked as a consultant for Anixter, Chicago, IL, Pioneer Industries, Solon, OH, and Paragon Industries, Youngstown, OH.

An avid golfer, he excelled on the Sharon Tiger Varsity Golf Team and also played for Gannon University. Dick won the 1970 Packard Open; had two hole-in-one's; and was able to consistently shoot his age up into his mid 80's. During his last round of golf, at age 88, Dick and his son, Rich, tied for 1st Place in the Men's 45 and Over Golf Tournament at Buhl Park Golf Course in Hermitage.

His beloved wife of 62 years, Eleanor (Broscoe) Steines, whom he married July 8, 1961, survives at their home.
