Charles N. Rhodes of Sharon passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019, in the Sharon Regional Medical Center. He was 83.
Mr. Rhodes was born March 16, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles and Irene (Reno) Rhodes. He attended Sharon High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Chuck or Charlie, as many knew him, retired from Sharon Tube where he was employed for more than 40 years. He was a member and officer of the Sharon Tube retirees.
Chuck was an active member of St. Joseph Church and the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge 103, both in Sharon. He was an avid bowler and participated in many tournaments and league play at Thornton Hall Lanes in Sharon.
Chuck enjoyed hunting and was a fan of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.
His wife of 53 years, the former Joyce Ann Law, whom he married July 25, 1958, passed away October 14, 2011.
Known as "Bud" by his family, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. Robinson and her husband Daniel, of Sharon; and Lori A. Margala and her husband Eric, of Austintown, Ohio; three sons, Michael D. Rhodes, of Sharon; Mark E. Rhodes and his wife Janice, of Pearl River, NY; and Kevin A. Rhodes, also of Sharon; three grandchildren, Ryan Rhodes, Hannah Robinson and Douglas Robinson; a brother, Ralph Rhodes and his wife Vickie, of Mercer; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Chuck was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Powell and Rita Redick.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2019, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage, with military honors rendered by the Sharon Honor Guard.
