Charles Steven Panko I, 394 Cedar Ave., Sharon, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning (11-24-09) in his home. He was 48.
Mr. Panko was born on June 6, 1961 in Warren Ohio, to William and Rose Marie Mahanovich Panko.
Chuck, as he was known by his family and close friends, graduated in 1980 from Matthews High School, Vienna, and earned his degree in mechanical engineering technology from the Shenango campus of Penn State University, graduating with honors.
He was formerly employed for several years at Fab Art in Youngstown.
A decorated U.S. Army veteran, Check received the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by: his mother, Vienna; two daughters, Rachael and Elizabeth Panko, both Sharon; four sons, John Panko, Sharon; Charles Steven Panko II, Vienna; and Elijah and Uriah Panko, both Sharon; a sister, Karen Marie Bartone and her husband Scott, Niles, OH; and a brother, John H. Panko, Vienna.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father and a brother, William C. Panko.

Service: A memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Monday (11-30-2009) in East Side Baptist-Disciples of Christ Church, Sharon with the Rev. David Bell, pastor of First United Brethren Church, New Castle officiating
Internment: Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington.
