Obituary

Charles Leslie Morgan, passed away at 2:11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 in the hospital of Jameson Health System. He was 74.

Mr. Morgan was born March 1, 1938 in New Castle the son of David A. and Jessie E. Williams Morgan.

He was a 1957 graduate of New Castle High School. Following high school Chuck enlisted in the United States Army. During his time in the Army, Chuck was stationed in Germany and traveled throughout the country playing baseball.

Mr. Morgan was was employed at Youngstown Welding & Engineering as a machineist for 32 years.

Chuck attended the Evangel Community Church. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. Most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his wife, Mary Lou Smith Morgan, whom he married October 26, 1962; 3 children, Beth Ann and her husband Scott Zoldan of Canfield, OH, Amy and her husband Mark Heini of New Wilmington, and James and his wife Diane Morgan of Beaver Falls, PA; a sister, Ethel Mershimer of New Castle; a brother Donald Morgan of Austintown, OH; 3 grandchildren, Elyse, Craig, and Noah. Chuck will be sadly missed by his loving family and all of those that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David A. Morgan Jr.; and an infant son.

Calling hours will be from 12 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St. New Castle, PA 16101.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Strobel pastor of Evangel Community Church.

Interment: Graceland Cemetery.
