Charles R. 'Chuck' Knott, 6988 Lamor Rd., (Jefferson Township) Sharpsville, PA passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Tuesday evening (4-27-11) at home. He was 48.
Chuck was born April 20, 1963 in Sharon a son of Charles and Lynne Baldrige Knott.
He attended Hickory Elementary Grade School, Hermitage; was a 1981 Graduate of Kennedy Christian High School, Hermitage; and attended Slippery Rock (PA) State University.
Chuck began working at his family's business, Knott's Interiors, Hermitage, at the age of 13 and was currently the vice-president of operations. A gifted craftsman, he specialized in marble and tile flooring, and also built his home.
Chuck was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage; and the Jefferson Township zoning committee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, snow skiing and golf. He also loved boating on the Shenango Reservoir and was an excellent water skier. Earlier in his life, Chuck competed in motocross racing and, at one time, was ranked third in the country. He later shared his love of four wheeling with his son.
Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Deborah A. Novak, whom he married April 23, 1994 in St. Anthony's Church, Sharon; a son, Charles A. 'Chaz' Knott, at home and a sophomore at Kennedy Catholic High School; his mother and father, Charlie and Lynne Knott, Hermitage; a sister, Antoinette 'Nettie' Bonham and her husband Richard, Harrisburg, North Carolina, and their children, Sam and Cara; and his mother- and father-in-law, Donald and Delores Novak, Sharpsville.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Charles Knott Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of: Kennedy Catholic High School, 2120 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday (5-2-11) in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with the Rev. Jeffery J. Noble, pastor, as celebrant.
