Charles G. Joseph, formerly of Sunnydell Dr., Brookfield, passed away at 1:21 p.m. Thursday (10-28-10) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. He was 85.
Mr. Joseph was born December 3, 1924 in Farrell a son of Michael and Maria Rubano Joseph.
He was a lifelong area resident and a 1942 alumnus of Farrell High School.
Following his graduation he served with the US Army in the European Theater during WW II.
Mr. Joseph was an electrician at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 38 years and retired in 1980.
He was a member and usher at St. Bernadette's Church in Masury and a former member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Farrell where he served as an altar boy in his youth. Mr. Joseph was an avid gardener and enjoyed snow skiing.
His wife, the former Delila Lucille Palazzo, whom he married August 20, 1949, passed away January 19, 1974.
Surviving are: three daughters, Maria A. Tocco and her husband Dominic, Poland, Ohio; Joyce E. Cravener and her husband Gary, Masury, Ohio; and Cheryl L. Jones and her husband Robert, Brookfield, Ohio; a son, Charles V. Joseph and his wife Karyn, Youngstown, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Dominic Tocco and his wife Allicyn; Giovanni Tocco and his wife Emily; Stacy Hook and her husband Ronald; Garrett Cravener and his wife Veronica; Charlene Borgelt and her husband Jesse; Erica Marsh and her husband Josh; Afton Roberts and her husband Michael; and Chelsea and Chynna Thompson; seven great grandchildren, Nico and Gianni Tocco; Sophia and Joseph Hook; Gavin and Brinkley Marsh; and Gianna Roberts; and many relatives in the Shenango Valley.
Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Ella M. Joseph, of Cassidy Road, Hermitage, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Monday (8-30-10) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Joseph was born April 23, 1925, in Sharon, a daughter of Ronald and Mable Mitchell Rearick.
A lifelong area resident, she was an alumna of Sharon High School, class of 1943.
Mrs. Joseph was a licensed practical nurse and worked for several health care facilities throughout the Shenango Valley, including what is now Sharon Regional Health System; Shenango Valley Osteopathic Hospital, now UPMC Horizon, Farrell; and Nugent Convalescent Home and John XXII Home for senior citizens, both Hermitage. She also worked as a private duty nurse and enjoyed assisting and transporting her patients to their local appointments.
She was a homemaker and belonged to Church of the Notre Dame, Hermitage. Her husband, Alfred J. Joseph Sr., whom she married Sept. 5, 1948, survives at the residence.
She also leaves her five sons, Dr. Alfred J. Joseph Jr. and his wife Judy, Hermitage; Ronald J. Joseph and his wife Carol, South Pymatuning; David L. Joseph and his wife Colleen, Hermitage; Dr. Joseph T. Joseph and his wife Lori, Clark; and Bryan M. Joseph, Hermitage. She will be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren, who were the joy of her life, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Joseph was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maye Pollack and Beryl Redfoot; two brothers, Harry and George Rearick, and a daughter-in-law, Jamie A. Joseph, on March 19, 2003.
