Rev. Charles R. Harvey, 1310 Mulberry St., Masury, Ohio passed away at 2:33 p.m. Monday (5-18-09) in St. Elizabeth Hospital and Medical Center, Youngstown, Ohio following an extended illness. He was 61.
Rev. Charles was born December 14, 1947 in Greenville, PA a son of the late John and Luella Jewell Harvey.
He was a 1967 graduate of Brookfield High School and retired in 1997 from the former Wheatland Tube Co. where he was employed for thirty years.
Rev. Charles was an active member of the Sharpsville Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was involved with the youth group, senior citizen group and the church camp counseling and ministry. He was a volunteer minister at the Mercer County jail and a member of the Christian comedy team, Buzzard Family.
Rev. Charles pastored at the Light House Church in New Castle, PA for four years and the Lawrence Village Manor senior citizen high rise.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, spending time with his grandchildren and doing God's work.
Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Sharon Larimer, whom he married May 18, 1968; three sons, Todd Harvey and his wife Martha; and Jason Harvey and his wife Melissa, all Masury; and Kevin Harvey and his wife Jennifer, New Castle; a brother, John Harvey and his wife Barbara, Long Island, NY; four sisters, Nancy Meyers and her husband Mike, Masury; Margaret Harvey, Sharon; Tina McFarland and her husband Dan, Hubbard; and Carrie Harvey, Sharon; five grandchildren, Karla, Todd, Jr., Marla, Julia and Savanna Harvey.
Besides his parents, Rev. Charles was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Mills and Rosa Jewell; and a brother, Ron Harvey.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 in the funeral home with the Rev. Hazel Fitzgerald, pastor of the Sharpsville Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiating.
Cremation in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
