Obituary

Charles Richard Beshero, 86, of Neshannock Twp. passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 11, 2024, in his home.

Mr. Beshero was born November 15, 1937, in New Castle, a son of the late Alexander and Jane (Moses) Beshero. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1955 and attended business courses at Westminster College and Youngstown State University.

A prominent businessman and entrepreneur in New Castle, Chuck was the president of J.J. Dean Wholesale Grocery Company. He served as an executive at Westgate Plaza and New Era Realty Company, and owned and operated the Beshero Tire Company and Chuck's Auto Agency. Additionally, he founded the New Castle Chili Company and Charlie's Chili Company.

Chuck was a very active member of St. John's Maronite Roman Catholic Church, singing in the choir and serving on the parish council. He was a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 512, New Castle.

Devout in his faith, Chuck was well-known throughout the community for gifting others Miraculous Medals of the Blessed Mother and offering sincere words of consolation and encouragement.

Chuck remained active in the community throughout his life, most notably as part of the Lords of the Castle Barbershop Chorus (SPEBSQSA) and a member of the Last National Bank Barbershop Quartet. Earlier in his life, he was a founding member of the Four Friends doo-wop group that was featured on the Ed Sullivan television show.

A man of kindness and humility, Chuck devoted his life to caring for his family and dear friends. In addition to his love for animals, he also enjoyed antique cars and was fascinated by evolving technology, especially the computer.

His wife of 47 years, Gloria (Habib) Beshero, whom he married on August 29, 1964, preceded him in death on June 24, 2012.

Chuck is survived by a son, Gregory Beshero (Robin), of Sharpsville; a daughter, Dr. Elisa Beshero-Bondar (Gregory), of Erie, PA; two sisters, Karen Haas (Jim), and Alexis Dellaverson (Rick), all of New Castle; two grandchildren, Brett and Blake Beshero; and several nieces and nephews.
