Charles B. Allen, 1020 Biscayne Dr., Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 4:22 a.m. Saturday (3-28-09) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 57.
Mr. Allen was born April 2, 1951 in Sharon a son of George Charles and Kathleen Glover Allen.
He was a 1969 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Clarion State University.
Charlie retired in 2004 from the PA Liquor Control Board after 25 years of service at the State Store in the Hickory Plaza, Hermitage.
He was affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church, Sharon. Charlie was an avid golfer and a member of the Avalon at Buhl Park Country Club. He was also a master gardener and spent many hours tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. He enjoyed fishing, particularly trout fishing, and was a member of the Neshannock Trout Unlimited.
Surviving are: his father, George Charles Allen, with whom he made his home; a sister, Kathleen Weller and her husband Richard Weller, Redlands, CA; two nephews, R. Mark Weller, Chico, CA; and Robert A. Weller, Portland, OR; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday (4-2-09) in the funeral home.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
