Cecil F. Suber April 4, 1930 - July 19, 2015 Cecil F. Suber, 85, formerly of Pulaski Road, Neshannock Township, passed away peacefully of natural causes Sunday, July 19, 2015, at the Haven Convalescent Home. Cecil was born April 4, 1930, in New Castle, one of two sons born to the late Cecil F. and Sabina McClaran Suber. He was raised in New Castle and graduated from New Castle High School in 1948. A veteran, he entered the Marine Corps in 1948, and was honorably discharged in 1949. He retired after 30 years from United Engineering as chief of construction. Mr. Suber was a member of St. Camillus Church, New Castle. His wife, the former Gladys F. Hogue, whom he married Aug. 25, 1956, at St. Michael the Archangel Basilica in Loretto, Pa., passed away Dec. 6, 2010. He is survived by two daughters, Jane Stitt and her husband, Jeff, of New Castle and Mary Sue Hughes and her husband, Jim, of Chatham, N.J.; three sons, David Suber and his wife, Cindy, of Portersville, Alan Suber and his wife, Pamela, of Hermitage and Thomas Suber of New Castle; his grandchildren, Elisa Smith and her husband, Jonathan, Kaitlyn Suber, Austin Schweitzer and his fiancee, Brook, Savannah Turner and her husband, Matt, Jocelyn and Peter Hughes; and his great-grandchildren, Mason and Keenan Smith, and Quentin and Madilyn Turner. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Suber. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, 321 St Mary St., Loretto. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Timothy J. Swope, V.F. Rector of the Basilica, officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto.
