Catherine C. 'Snooky' Friedrich, 1479 McDowell St., Sharon, passed away of natural causes at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday (11-22-11) in the hospital of the Sharon Regional Health System. She was 85.
Mrs. Friedrich was born February 28, 1926 in Sharpsville a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Morse Colt.
A lifelong area resident, she attended the former Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of Sharon High School.
Prior to her marriage, Snooky was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. She later worked for Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon; Sears Roebuck and Co., Hermitage; and retired as a tax collector for the City of Sharon School District.
Snooky was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and was a former longtime member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the America's, Court # 507, Sharon; John XXIII Home Auxiliary, Hermitage; and many card clubs.
Her husband, Charles L. Friedrich, whom she married May 28, 1955, passed away February 12, 1972.
Surviving are: a son, Christopher J. Friedrich and his wife Iroda Pulatova, Destin, Florida; two daughters, Johanna Friedrich, Sharon; and Bernadette Friedrich, Lansing, MI; three grandchildren, Bret C. Friedrich, Sharon; Lauren K. Friedrich, Phoenix, AZ; and Samira C. Friedrich, Destin, FL; a sister, Mary Ellen Ebert, Hermitage; and a brother, Ed Colt and his wife Anne, Hermitage.
Besides her parents and husband, Snooky was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, William L. Friedrich and his wife Janine K. Friedrich; a sister, Margaret 'Peg' Holtzclaw; and four brothers, Spark, William, Daniel and James Colt.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Due to Thanksgiving, a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (11-25-11) in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with Msgr. Edward J. Zeitler, senior pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary Cemetery, Hermitage.
