Carolyn Gayle Pierre, 89, formerly of West Middlesex and Farrell passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025.

Carolyn, known by most as Gayle, was born March 12, 1936, to Charles Cox and Goldie (Jackson) Cox in Jefferson Twp., Greene County, Pennsylvania.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Charles (Shannon) Rice, and a granddaughter, Jordan (Troy) Price, all of Naples, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Cox and Goldie Cox; and two brothers, John Cox and Clinton Cox.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family

A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Anthony Kladitis, officiating.

Carolyn will be laid to rest next to her beloved parents at Greene County Memorial Park in Waynesburg, PA.
